Notes on the use of assessments

A useful way to think about psychometric assessments is to compare them to a map of an unknown territory. Different maps have different usages. For example a road map will be useful for route planning. Before drilling for oil an inspection of a geological map would be useful. And a map showing economic indicators might be useful for planning a mailing campaign.
